Close to the embers
A downloadable game
A Game about hoping for a hopeful future
Close to the embers is a cooperative no-GM role playing game and storytelling tool in which you are invited to imagine yourself as a member of a community where life is good. Resources are not a problem. You are friendly with and attuned to the nature around you. Ruins of an older, harsher world remain, but they are neither very dangerous nor very appealing. And yet, their mysterious and weird nature makes them cool to visit.
Every once in a while, when work is done, you and your friends like to go there for a little field trip... Just for fun.
Get close to the glowing embers of the devastating fires of past civilizations, and see what nice stories you will bring back to tell your peers!
Once you will have imagined this future, you will have brought it one step closer to reality.
This game was inspired by games like Junk Nest City by Everest Pipkin, or Microscope
by Ben Robbins. It was also inspired by the work of Ann Light on Collaborative
speculation, and the Theatre of the Oppressed by Augusto Boal.
Coming from this side of more theatrical playing, the game focuses more on guiding your imagination, and will have no dice rolls, stats, or resolutions.

Hello, can you give an idea of the gameplay? Is it mostly prompts? Map drawing? Dice and stats for resolution?
good point, I will add this to the description.
It's mostly a tool/system to help you imagine the world and community, by playing scenes. The themes of the scenes are prompted by tokens that you create at the start and then come back later.
there's no dice or stats, all "resolutions" you want will have to be decided by the group.
It's close to collaborative theatre, or collaborative fiction.
Excellent, thank you.
